On a clear night with no moon to spoil it, the whole sky opens directly above the house. It is dark enough, and the air clear enough, that the Milky Way is a given — and satellites cross it in plain sight.

We turn off the street lights near the house, and the owner gives a short guide to the sky. Come and look up with us after dinner.
開田高原を中心に、自然に恵まれた信州・木曽の素材をふんだんに盛り込んだお食事です。ご夕食は洋風家庭料理のコースに、山の幸の小皿や自家製の香の物を添えて。山里の懐かしい味も織り込んでございます。
We cook with what Kiso and the Kaida plateau give us. Dinner is a course of Western home cooking, set alongside small plates of mountain food and our own pickles — the old flavours of these hills, worked in.
